Bartra is more aggressive and quicker than Pique when he attacks.

Yes! Sergi has done well these last 2 seasons, him not debuting would be a bigger travesty than jona missing out today,

    November 10, 2010

Thiago to Messi. I think we’ll be seeing many more of those in the future.

Don’t like Messi playing in this game but that was nice to see and I think that was Pep’s reason for playing Messi.

Thiago has been fantastic. He’s the future. And that future is getting closer and closer.

Nolito is a much bigger threat than Bojan.

Mascherano is having another commanding game. His passing is much better than I expected and I always knew he could pass.

Thiago his basically kicking down the door of the 1st team.

Watch Pep hide him away again after this 😀

Playing Messi has a positive effect on the youth players, because not many players have chance to play with Messi in a real match. That experience will be very important to them. When they return to B team, they work hard to get minutes, but playing with Messi is like you have to get the most out of him. Thiago is definitely benefiting from this match, so is Nolito.

  34. BA
    November 10, 2010

wow Thiago and Messi are brilliant together.

    November 10, 2010

Thiago’s touch and ball control are just phenomenal.

The notion of spending 50M on Cesc makes little sense.

  37. Hilal

Wow, Messi and Thiago are really clicking. I really want to see more of this!!

Even with Messi on the pitch, Bojangles is captain. How ’bout that?

    • barca96
      November 10, 2010

Was just about to ask that.
I guess Pep doesnt want Bojan to feel left out 😆
Like , OK, give us back the captain’s armband.

Aree the Ceuta defenders tackling hard on Messi or are they takin it easy on the Messiah? Man. im behind the desk wetting my pants . Really worried Messi gets a tackle

I really like what Pep did this second half. He’s had sMasch drop back and play CB.

I’d love for him to get more time at CB, especially now with Gaby injured.

sMasch’s skill set is extremely well suited to play CB for Barca.

    • Jim
      November 10, 2010

Not sure I’d want to see him and Puyol as CBs in the Clasico. I’m sure his reading of the game would be good but we’re starting to get ridiculous height wise. We’d be sweating buckets with every cross ball.

    November 10, 2010

Messi and THIAGO might be as brilliant as they’ve never been before, but I’m only thinking about Villarreal without Piqué and Milito, and even worse, maybe el Clasico without both of them…
How long will Milito be injured???

  44. cliveee

oh no, the ball hit Thiago’s nuts… and Messi came smiling…

      November 10, 2010

      What about Sergi Roberto?

  47. Euler
    November 10, 2010

Milito’s been diagnosed with a muscle tear in the back of his leg (h/t Pep at barcastuff).

That means he does have a hamstring pull as it appeared.

Those are very difficult injuries, especially for an older player. We have to wait and see what the grade of tear is but I’d have to think Milito is out at least a few weeks.

I’ve never really thought about it, but now that you mention it he does. Could Leo solve some of our lack of depth at centerback
