El Clasico 2011: The Morning Of

Okay, yeah, it’s just over 5 hours until kickoff and I’m supposedly doing some other work. You know, personal stuff. Stuff that is specifically not writing blog posts. But obviously it’s just over 5 hours from kickoff and I don’t have a chance in hell of actually concentrating for more than 3 minutes at a time. On anything. Even El Clasico is kind of beyond me. I can glance through Euler’s authoritative post on tactics, but I can’t really read it because that would require having vision that isn’t blurred by anxiety and freaking out-itude.

So, instead:

Blast that. Tweet that. Do whatever it is the kids are doing these days in Web 3.14. Just make sure your heart need defibrillated every 30 seconds from now until 6pm when the curtain comes down on the first of four freaking clasicos!

Oh and watch this because it’s awesome even if our little assassin isn’t going to be playing (H/T Kari).

So I’m not sure who I would less rather be right now: Fernando Torres or the person who pulled the trigger on the 50m acquisition of him. Remember when many of the multitudes were clamoring for his purchase? Seems so long ago now, doesn’t it?

It certainly has got Drogba firing on all cylinders – he looks like a man possessed now!

And Torres now 14 games for club and country without a goal…

What about starting a poll: Rest Messi or not

I’d say rest him for today, since he has a cold and well… it could destroy all the plans that Mou has thought out in his evil mind 🙂

      in the first half.
Let him come on and stir things up in the 2nd. Remember when we played VIllareal? We absorbed the pressure in the first half and attack them in the 2nd. I hope Pep does the same.

I didn’t see Pedro’s name on barcastuff’s predicted line up. I thought he recovered already. But I prefer him to create havoc in the 2nd half with Messi 🙂

Nervous, man I couldn’t sleep well. And to think there will be four games in less than a month… amazing. I am ready for today, already rockin my jersey, ready for el clasico.

This, by the by, is the N. American Barca Shop. It’s an insult to self-respecting cules. Poor selection, dodgy stock …. just worthless. In RoSELL’s defense, this abomination came to life during the Laporta regime, back when the club was making a big push for the U.S. market, including affiliating itself with a Miami MLS club.

It’s really World Soccer Shop as the fulfiller, which is also a joke. The Botiga by mail links with a shop with an established order fulfillment setup. In Europe/rest of the world, it’s joined forces with Kitbag, the place I order all of my stuff from.

I don’t know what has been discussed and what not cause I’ve been away for 3 days only and there are nearly 500 comments for me to read.sigh.

Anyways, good luck y’all (with handling the pressure). I know I have difficulties. Just now while driving back home, there was a heavy traffic, I was hungry and thought about Barca; hungry + nervous = palpitation!!
And I don’t even consider tonight’s match as the most important one. Lesson learned, I need to eat on time for the next 2 weeks 🙂

Hope 7 hours later we will all be happy men and women…

I can’t keep up with all the posts!

Not that I’m complaining. I love reading about this team and can’t ever seem to get enough. I read articles and blogs over and over. I doubt that’s going to happen this time though. Pundits, fans and neutrals from Asia, Australia, Europe, the Americas, Africa and the rest of the world all seem to have something to say about it.

Wow. The next eighteen days will be pure sensory and information overload.

I just sent this to an EE friend in Holland: http://bbljoy.com/0nhq9
Thought I’d share for any Nederlanders here. (hope my Dutch doesn’t suck too bad.)

    Bordeaux en blauw
    Als een klauw
Nu begint de openrijting van de buik

    vijf tot nul
    net als vroeger
C R is een grote aanroeper

Mourino zal stempel en stempel zijn voeten
    Vier keer voor vier nederlagen

    Ramos zal stikken
    Kaka zal vallen met snikken

Huilen in je bier tot mei
    Barca Barca Barca

    maroon and blue
    Like a claw
    Now begins the disembowelment

    five to zero
    just like before
    C R is a big poseur

Mourino will stamp and stamp his feet
    Four times for Four defeats

    Ramos will choke
    Kaka will fall with sobs

Cry in your beer until May
    Barca BArca BArca
