International Match Day comments post

Sorry for the lateness of this here post. The games that I find interesting are:

Brazil-Argentina (12pm EST)
South Africa-USA (2pm EST)
Portugal-Spain (4pm EST)

Have at it in the comments and I’ll be back tomorrow with some serious writing. Apologies for not being more voluminous in my posting recently, but hey, that’s how it goes now and then, eh? We’re almost a third of the way through the season, so I think I’ll write something about how that’s true. Probably.

I’ve lurking around here for the past month or so. Just wanted to say that I love this blog and I’m so grateful that I found it.

    With that said…

OMG THAT MESSI GOAL ALMOST MADE ME PEE IN MY PANTS!!!!! (Sorry for the disgusting image.)

      Welcome! Glad you like it.

No worries dude. The same or similar are said here in varying terms many times. At least you didn’t say you “jizzed” <— most annoying word ever (damn YouTube!)

After the match Ronnie and Messi were exchanging shirts, and I caught a glimpse of a tatoo on Messis shoulder. Any 1 know anything about it?

    • Humphrey Bogart
      November 17, 2010

yeah, it is a tatoo with the picture of his mum. I think he got it during the summer because I have first seen it during the Gamper game.

I agree, but Di Maria was having way too much success vs. Alves tho.

    • Jnice
      November 17, 2010

I don’t know, I felt Di Maria got lucky 3 or 4 times after Alves poked the ball away it would bounce favorably for Angel.

I didn’t notice this thread until just now. I’ll be watching the same matches or atleast trying to
As for the first match I was obviously impressed by Lavezzi. Alves had a good match, Zanetti did too. Pastore I didn’t think so much. Messi was everywhere, but they have him coming way to deep for the ball.

Neymar looks like he has the raw talent just can’t put it together yet. Robinho was.. eh. Alves like I said, the fact that he’s taking Maicon’s place means something but I still think people overrate Maicon’s defensive abilities. Luiz had a few nice hacks on Messi hah!

    November 17, 2010

Also new faces for the USA team. I just want to see Logan Pause (Chicago Fire) do well. Kxevin probably doesn’t give two shits as he hates the Fire!

    November 17, 2010

Pastore is very good. I can’t understand why all the hate on him in this blog. He understands Messi very well. Just look at how many times he and Messi exchanged 1-2’s. I’m not saying we should buy him. He’ll be overpriced and he has no place in our squad especially after signing Afellay. Do I need to remind you of his last visit to the Camp Nou ?

    Valdes was the GK, BTW.

Your icon might show a little bias towards Pastore 😀

    • Diego S.
      November 17, 2010

      😀

No bias here, I didn’t say he’s the best player in the world. I’m saying he’s a great talent and could be world class in a couple of years if he already isn’t. Some people here apparently disagree.

    • Josep
      November 17, 2010

I for one don’t disagree, actually I don’t know anyone that does. Its just that we have a surplus of young talent there that spending all that money would be stupid.

    • Diego S.
      November 17, 2010

That’s why I said in my first post “I’m not saying we should buy him. He’ll be overpriced and he has no place in our squad especially after signing Afellay.” 😀

We have Thiago, Afellay, Iniesta, Masch, JDS all under 26. Not to mention the likes of S.Roberto, Oriol Romeu, etc.

    • Nik
      November 17, 2010

    My perfect day is this:

Messi scores; Silva scores; Thong Boy has a terrible match, misses an open net, and gets sent off; Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro!, Puyi, and Pique don’t play the full 90.

    • Josep

    November 17, 2010

i just dont see the point in playing tried and true veterans, who already play 2 matches a week, who just won the world cup, in a friendly. why not try some young blood. why doesnt anyone (pep, our boys) say anything about this? i am worried about it more than the players? if so ill shut up.

    • Kari
      November 17, 2010

Pep’s probably pissed. Our players always want to play.

Spanish FA are laughing all the way to the bank.

Oh, how I hate Sergio Ramos…

  33. lovelymofo
    November 17, 2010

Busquets with a late tackle, but naturally Fake Ronaldo makes the most of it, with a delayed reaction rolling around in agony bit.

    • Kari
      November 17, 2010

Bwahaha. He fails to get Busi booked, so he slide tackles him later and gets a yellow himself.

My day is rolling on perfectly

    • lovelymofo
      November 17, 2010

Busi getting under his skin before el Clasico, not a bad ploy!

You know, its such a shame that Christiano plays with such a terrible attitude, it makes it impossible to enjoy watching him play.

    • stowe
      November 17, 2010

indeed, so skilled, fun to watch and then he goes and whines or does a crossover 5 meters from a defender. can’t stand the attitude. it’s one reason i love messi so much
