“I’d like to thank the Academy, and …. ” Ibra best in Italy

I'm so bad, I carry monsters on my back. Yes.

Guess who the best player in Italy is?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is now also one of the best players in Spain.

He topped the table in the annual Calcio players association vote, commonly thought of as the Italian Oscars. He also won the best foreign player award.

“I miss Italy. I learnt so much in five years and won lots. But now I am enjoying Spain and I love it at Barcelona,” said Ibrahimovic. “Plus the players are smaller, so I can carry them on my back during my exultant goal scoring celebrations. Hooray for me.”

For those who might not remember, Ibrahimovic scored 25 goals at the point of the Inter Milan attack, making his player of the yearness pretty much a foregone conclusion. And now he’s ours. Hooray for us.

Any opinions on Yaya’s/Keita’s performances in Africa? I haven’t been watching too much, but I saw the end of Ivory Coast-Ghana the other day and I wasn’t sure if Yaya was on the field or not. I guess Keita and Mali have been eliminated, and he scored a few goals but…did he play well? Thanks all-

Keita scored a really good freekick against Malawi

3 goals by Keita with Mali, a great shot against Malawi as the comment above mentioned. Mali as a team are bad. With Keita, Kanoute, Sissoko, Diara.. the manager doesn’t know how to play them as a team.

yaya was subbed in the 60th minute against ghana but he has been playing as an attcking midfielder. its awesome to see him up there.

the only weird thing is that the Cote d’ivoire team is all so big physically that yaya just looks normal size!!!

viva les elephantes! they will win the ACN and also that guy Gervinho who plays for them is someone to watch for the future as is Tienes who apparently just moved to valencia and scored an amazing free kick.

eto’o also scored the other day in cameroun’s 3-2 defeat of zambia. that was an awesome game.

11 goals in the league, the goal in the sevilla home match that gave us hope, the goal in el Classico….first season with a huge transfer over his head playing for the a team that won a treble without him while replacing a club legend….mmm he needs to continue but he has proven it to me.

is this the full article or part of it?
    cos the title says
“I’d like to thank the Academy”
does he mean the ajax academy?

    • January 18, 2010

“The Academy” (The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) is who gives out the Oscars. “I would like to thank the Academy” is a typical way of starting an Oscar acceptance speech.

If he can score twenty goals this season then to me job well done

I doubt he can reach 25 goals this season… and I am sure he will never be the best player of la Liga, because there is A LOT more competition on both individual and team level in Spain 🙂

Nevertheless, congratulations for being the best “Italian” player despite playing half the year in Spain.
