Culé since way before football boots were of the neon yellow and lizard green variety, Levon is a deep thinker with increasingly shallow thoughts. He lives in Barcelona with his gorgeous wife and daughter. The lucky bastard...

Seems as a formality now as Barca had won the title months ago. Leaders from week one and they never looked back. We had a few bumps but, this team is PUTO great.
EE lost the title today in Barcelona and tomorrow Madrid gives us a passillo, be it at the Calderon(Bernabeu would have been better). Maybe the cules will celebrate at cibeles, life can’t get any better.

Congrats Barca, better team all year(in liga anyways). VISCA BARCA!!!

      Well said.

I also thought about the Barça fans celebrating in Madrid on Sunday and visiting Cibeles for some picture taking myself 😆

It cannot be a bad season if the league was won. Champs four times in the past five seasons. Well done FCB.

Hopefully, we can push on from this. Have a good shopping season with targeted buys and build from here. Also hoping for ATM not to be so Pathetico come Friday and wins the CdR against the LWBs.

      Visca Barça! Ole!

YES! Well deserved title win. Our consistency in the league has been fantastic. EE had no chance.

Congratulations for the team, a well deserved silver for the consistency this season. Special mention to Cesc, Alexis, Song and Alba for their very first liga title (am i missing somebody?)

    Visca Barca!

      Wohoo we’re the champions!

Would this be Bartra’s first la liga title? I don’t remember when he was promoted, but I think this would be his first as well!

I don’t know. We all knew this was happening since at least two months ago, so I didn’t cheer about it as much as I should have liked. It does feel rather a hollow title, to me at least. All season long we couldn’t beat our closest competitor in a meaningful game. It rather went sour for us in the important games culminating in the disasters vs Real and Bayern
Better players must be brought to the club this summer, and not Naymar (who’d be a colossal waste) but defenders and productive attackers, lest this title be nothing more than a flash in the pan. Above all, no more tiki-taka.

      No more tiki taka???

You do know it’s our style of play don’t you?

Style of play should change to meet challenges ahead. Resorting to the dogmatic belief that this particular style will continue to work is naive at best, and can be disastrous at its worst.
I fear it will take Villanova another such year to realize that the 4-3-3 with the false 9 simply does not cut it against teams of Bayern and Real’s calibre. The way forward is not to have smaller and smaller players holding the ball for hours in the neutral areas of the pitch. The 08-09 side (Barca’s best starting XI ever was in the 6-2 win at the Benarbeu) didn’t hog the ball for its own sake. They passed the strongest challenges and won the games that really mattered. This year we won the league but how can it be even remotely enjoyable when Real can beat us with relative ease?

I thought it was the tiki taka that captured everyone’s heart..

Alright. I didn’t see the succeeding comment. Sure, changes need to be made here and there…but tiki taka hasn’t failed. You made it sound like we need a total overhaul of the system.

But we do need a total overhaul of the system. It would be naive to think the way we play now will always bring results. It will not. I advocated for changes in 2011 but in the two years since nothing has really changed. Personnel was brought in whom we really did not need, while other areas were left criminally exposed, all in the belief that possession of the ball for 60-65% of the game equals a proper defensive unit. Meanwhile the opponents got stronger, more physically robust, more tactically versatile. They made the signings they needed to make and they reaped the desired results. We maintained the dogma and failed in the big games.

Passing the ball well will always beat the alternative, all other things being equal. It’s equalising the other things we need to look at.

As Guardiola said, the ball moves faster than any player.

    This was too easy.
    They made it easy.
    Celebrate anyway.

But I don’t want us to relax yet.
I want that stupid 100 points record.
And I want Messi to add another 5-6 goals to his tally.
