Cinco de Pepo: the Peptucky Derbi, a Match Comments Thread

It’s that once-a-year thing, where Barça hosts Espanyol in the derbi Barceloní and horses are run in an American state in honor. In México, they go one farther and have themselves an awesome festival to celebrate it; the fiesta has extended itself to the US where it’s a major expat holiday and a time for Americans to think they’re “celebrating” Mexican independence. It’s not.

So. Cinco de Pepo, the Peptucky Derbi, and a round of mint julPeps for all!

Barça: Pinto, Montoya, Puyol, Mascherano, Adriano, Busquets, Thiago, Keita, Pedro, Messi, Iniesta

Espanyol: Cristian, Raul, Forlín, Héctor, Didac, López, Sánchez, Baena, Verdú, Weiss, Álvaro

This is Pep’s last home match in charge of Barça. Thank you for everything, Pep. You are an inspiration and a gentleman. We will miss you, but we will never stop celebrating your, our, accomplishments. You did all  you could and so much more than we thought possible. We love you. Thank you.

Visca el Barça!
